I deserve an A+ because I try really hard on my work. I take all the notes we do. I may get distracted, but I try to get everything that you put on the board. I do get my credit for my work that I do, but I think I deserve more credit because I do try really hard. I also deserve an A+ because I get my work right, and it's all correct so why not give me an A+ or at least an A.
I think i deserve about a B. I think I deserve this B becauseI do my work about 98% of the time, but I also goof off and am very loud the other two percent of the time. When I do do my work, I am engaged and trying to learn and still have side conversations cause honestly I learn and pay attention more when I am talking to my friends. I want an A but I would be happy with a B because I think that is what I deserve.
I want this grade because I will be able pass the grades. I won't have to worry about getting on the LOP list. I won't have to worry about being on academic probation for my sports. I am going to get this grade by behaving in class, turning in all my work, and paying attention more so I know what I am actually doing. This strategy worked for me in the past because in an other class I didn't pay any attention and failed my tests but then as soon as I started paying attention, I started passing my tests and my grade went up eventually. I got put on academic probation and so I had to bring up my grades to get off probation.
I believe the grade percentage I have earned is about an 87.5%. On the Grades on Learning scale I rate a three out of four because I do care about my grades. If I am really struggling I think can only pass with a C but I know that I am trying my best to pass the class with a better grade so I will be satisfied.
I feel the way I do about my grades because I do sports, and sports are everything but my coaches says “Students before Athletes. Always.” So I have to keep them up in order to keep up with my sports.
My attitude changed for learning in some subjects. I think it changed when I hit middle school. In elementary my teachers were really involved with hands on activities and really “feeling" the subjects and really trying to understand that not all people learn the same way, so we did different things on the same topic. But in middle school that all changed. It was like here, take these notes for an hour and on Friday we will take the test. There were no activities that were involved. Well there were maybe a few teachers, but really that not many.
I believe that I earned this "B" grade because I do do my work and try when I have to.
My experience in algebra this year has been amazing. Throughout the year I was able to learn a lot of new things that I didn't learn last year. Also this year I was able to meet new classmates and make new friends. Math is one of my favorite classes, so I enjoyed my class this year. Even though we had a lot of help from Ms.Allison some things were really hard to do. But I still managed to keep my grades good in math.
Being in math this year made me realize that the more I learn, the more I have to pay attention in class so math isn't so difficult in the coming years. It was fun to be in Ms.Allison's class this year because she made math into a fun way of learning. It was not all tests, but it was easier to learn stuff in her class by her explaining it and the hands on activities. My experience in math was very cool this year although it was a challenge, I still managed to make it through.
Algebra 1 has been an interesting experience for me as a whole compared to the rest of my classes, and all of the other math classes I have taken in the past. It wasn’t difficult in understanding the math, but it was difficult in not being distracted, as it felt as if white noise was pouring into my ears sometimes. However, this is outshone by all the fun projects we did, especially the Semester 1 final, which I had a lot of fun planning and creating, and other projects such as fundraiser posters were also a lot of fun. Towards the end of the year, we worked on digital Portfolios using Weebly. Having prior experience with the website it was a breeze creating my site. I found it to be a creative and interesting approach rather than filling a folder up with old papers like my other classes do. Having the portfolio available online for everyone to see made accessibility easier. The amount of projects like this kept me engaged in the class, as I am more of a hands on learner than a lecture taker. I just learn more easier and efficiently that way.
Although it was a challenge for me to focus in class I made it thus far, and I consider that a victory in my book. Overall, I was happy I got to take this class and participate in all it had to offer, from engaging projects to group activities. It was fun, and I look forward to see what the next few years of my high school education have to offer, and I am very glad I got to have Ms. Allison as a teacher this year.
My experience in class has been a great time. Learning in Ms. Allison’s class was made easy for me through the creative methods of the classroom. Math is usually one of my weaker subjects, but being in this class made everything a little easier for me to comprehend. I hope that one day I can use the unique methods learned in this class for everyday life in the future. I also hope that these methods will also help with the rest of my high school year career. Overall, this class has made learning math more enjoyable.
In algebra’s class, I would love to have an “A” but, then again who wouldn’t? Everyone wants an “A” and everyone can say that but, do they really deserve it? I personally believe that I deserve an “A” because I do all my work. I am a very determined and focused student. Yes, there are times where I slack off and I talk way too much, but I get back on track.
Right now, I have a “B”. I will stay in at lunch and talk to the teacher to see if there is any extra credit work I can do. All my work is done, maybe sometimes it not an “A’s” quality worth of work, but it’s done and I’m willing to re-do it.
This strategy has worked for me in the past.
If you’re determined and willing to put in the effort the result will show. Likewise in math, “whatever is the income, that’s the outcome you will get”. Effort is the number one priority in anything any person wants to do. Besides this class, I’m not doing the best in my other classes. It’s coming towards the end of the year and I’m getting on track. I’ve been staying after school and just grinding out my assignments at home. Grinding as in doing my work. I know I’m not at the top, or even where I would like to be; but I can guarantee that I’m getting there.
My attitude towards school has always been this way. What way? The way of never getting lower than a “C” and very focused. If I put in the effort I know I can get straight A’s. I’m very capable of doing it because I’ve done it before and I’m willing to do that again. If this is your attitude, then you can do the same thing. Put forth the effort and it will be evident in the grades you get.
